This policy explains how Buried Beneath Vault uses cookies and similar browser technologies. It describes the technologies actually deployed, not generic advertising or analytics tools that are not in use.

The service may use strictly necessary cookies or browser storage for authentication/session continuity, security, fraud prevention, billing/checkout state, feature integrity and essential preferences.

These technologies are necessary for requested functionality and cannot always be disabled through an in-app preference without preventing the service from working.

If Buried Beneath Vault introduces analytics, advertising, social-media tracking or other non-essential technologies, they must not be treated as strictly necessary. Where UK law requires consent, they will be disabled until the user makes the relevant choice.

At Final Copy v1.0, this policy does not claim that Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or other advertising trackers are used unless the live application actually deploys them.

Payment and billing pages may use cookies or similar technologies controlled by Stripe or other providers where necessary to provide secure checkout, fraud prevention and billing functionality. Their own privacy/cookie information may also apply when you interact with their pages.

You can use available cookie controls and your browser settings to remove or block cookies. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent sign-in, checkout or other core functions.

If optional cookies are added, the service should provide an appropriate consent/control mechanism before they are activated where required.

The live application's cookie and local-storage inventory should be reviewed whenever new analytics, advertising, embedded media or tracking functionality is introduced. This policy will be updated accordingly.
